The Freedom to Live Differently Comes With Some Assembly Required

The Uncivilized Intentional — Issue #001
October 25, 2026

There's something appealing about walking away from conventional living. No apartment, no mortgage, no neighbors practically living on top of you, and no spending your entire week working just to spend the weekend recovering from it.

Just you, your home, and the freedom to decide where you want to be.

Sounds pretty damn good, doesn't it?

Well, it is. But there's a catch. Actually, there are several, and some of them come with repair bills.

Since beginning my full-time RV adventure, I've dealt with failing equipment, unexpected plumbing repairs, financial complications, and the challenge of figuring out how to earn a living while staying independent.

I've also learned skills I never particularly expected to need.

And yet, knowing everything I know now, would I choose this lifestyle again?

Abso-fucking-lutely.

In this first issue of The Uncivilized Intentional, I'm sharing an honest look at what it takes to build a life outside conventional expectations, why self-reliance doesn't mean knowing everything, and why I still believe the freedom is worth the work.

Because living differently isn't necessarily easier. It comes with a different set of responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities to learn.

And sometimes, those challenges are worth taking on.
